Warner C. Page, age 81 of Markesan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home.

Warner was born on June 26, 1937 in Ripon to Elmer and Evelyn (Hahn) Page. On August 22, 1959 he was united in marriage to June Gaastra at the Markesan United Methodist Church.

Warner’s life and legacy lies with his love of God and family. A family man in the truest sense, a man who adored his wife, cherished his children, and shined as a grandparent and great-grandparent, loving unconditionally. In whatever capacity you had the fortune of knowing Warner, his deep generosity, empathy, and integrity quickly shown through.  

Warner’s family will always hold him in the highest esteem, remembering the loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandparent he was. He is also fondly remembered for his hearty laugh, quick wit, and friendship. He had a warm and ready smile, engaging personality, was a nature enthusiast, avid hunter, and competitive athlete.

Among Warner’s many life accomplishments, he was proud to be an honorable businessman; a banker of the people for 37 years. In addition to leading the bank as president, Warner was instrumental in forming the holding company of the bank.

Warner is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, June of Markesan; two daughters, Pam (David Wright) Page of Green Bay, Beth (Jason) Pugh of Ripon; two grandchildren, Shannon (Ben) Schoenebeck of Raleigh, NC, Adam (Maggie) Pugh of Bloomington, MN; great-grandson, Max Schoenebeck; two sisters, Lois Page of Redmond, WA, Sandra Dykstra of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother and sisters-in-law, Bill (Gert) Gaastra of Randolph, Dorothy Holland of Racine, Clarice Hillstrom of Haymarket, VA and Minnie Gaastra of Decatur, AL. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Warner is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene (Sally) Page; father and mother-in-law, William (Bernice) Gaastra; brothers-in-law, Eric Hillstrom, Alan Gaastra, Bud Dykstra, along with other relatives.

Visitation for Warner will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Markesan United Methodist Church, 74 E. Catherine St., Markesan, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kyochul Shin officiating. Burial will follow at Mackford Union Cemetery.
