A Ripon man living across the street from Barlow Park Elementary School was among those swept up in a massive heroin bust last week in Fond du Lac County.
Robert P. Olson Jr., 1209 Metomen St., has been charged with manufacture/deliver heroin (less than 3 grams).
If convicted of this Class F felony, he could face a maximum penalty of 12 1/2 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Olson remains in Fond du Lac County Jail, where he is being held on a $10,000 signature bond.
He allegedly is just one facet in a much larger operation.
So far, 10 people have been charged (nine of whom are in custody) in an investigation that began with a traffic stop last August on Highway 41. An 11th person is in custody on an unrelated matter and has not yet been charged as well.
That led to a multi-agency effort that included not only the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department and the Lake Winnebago MEG unit but also the state Department of Criminal Investigation.
