Ripon Police continue to search for a male subject after executing a search warrant yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at his residence related to drug use and possession.

Multiple items were taken into custody during that search.

“Numerous anonymous tips” led to the investigation and yesterday’s search, according to Ripon Police Capt. Troy Damsteegt.

The warrant was executed at about 2:30 p.m. at the northeast corner of Oshkosh and Eureka streets — 503 ½ Eureka St. — a location that became increasingly public as traffic increased around 3 p.m. during shift changes at local businesses.

“Numerous items of evidence were seized as a result of the search warrant and the investigation will continue,” Damsteegt said via a press release. “The city of Ripon Police Department investigates all tips received in an effort to curtail the harmful effects of drug use and sales on our community.”

Though the warrant led to police obtaining numerous pieces of evidence, the location of the resident of 503 ½ Eureka St. continues to be unknown.

That suspect is not being named at this time because he has not yet been charged with any crimes.

A criminal complaint(s) is expected to be filed, however, regarding this case.

“More information will be released as criminal complaints are issued,” Damsteegt said.
